My Vision

The soul of Dutton Dunwich are the people. Its the role of leaders to keep them safe and to allow them to flourish for the benefit of Community!

A Council with a Forward Looking Vision

I am committed to Economic Development. As current chair of Dutton Dunwich Economic Development Committee, I believe our municipality is positioned for growth. Community brand, assisting in business development and encouraging investment in our community only benefits our community. A solid marketing plan fosters new growth.

Sustainable Community Planning

Sustainable community planning is the long‑term process of shaping our community, so it meets today’s needs without undermining the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Examples are projects such as a new fire hall, or the Daffodil Auxiliary Food Bank, when is it required, how will we pay for it how will it be managed. Both essential services in our community.

Accountability & Transparency

Accountability and transparency are the foundation of effective local governance. Residents deserve clear information about how decisions are made, how public funds are used, and how council actions align with community priorities. I support open decision pathways, accessible financial reporting, and consistent updates on municipal projects so people can easily follow our progress. Strong, open processes build trust, strengthen our community, and keep council focused on long‑term, responsible planning.

Longterm Infrastructure Planning

Mandated by the province each municipality is expected to to develop an asset management plan. What is an asset management plan and how does it work? An asset management plan (AMP) defines how a municipality manages its physical infrastructure or other assets in the most cost‑effective way while delivering agreed service levels. It covers multiple assets including buildings and underground services such as waste water and water supply. The purpose of the asset management plan involves allocating funds to cover the asset life cycle over time.

Economic Development Plan & Business Retention

A plan is important after considering the desires and needs of our community impacting residents of all ages. Then recreation will be a success.

Vibrant Community Organizations & Culture

Dutton Dunwich stands in the Heart of the Talbot Settlement which is steeped in history and culture. Organization such as Backus Page Museum and the Heritage Committee are essential to Dutton Dunwich as they preserve our past. We are also blessed with the Wallacetown Fair, Wallacetown Optimist, Dutton Dunwich Lions Club and the West Elgin Daffodil Auxiliary and all the volunteers as they continue as strongholds supporting so many community events and essential community needs. All organizations are important and require municipal support.

A Council With A Vision

I believe without a Vision you will not succeed. An end goal has no meaning without a vision. The council must determine its objective and plan accordingly. I am committed to Vision!

It all starts with Vision!
