An Economic Development Plan
I am committed to Economic Development. As current chair of Dutton Dunwich Economic Development Committee, I believe our municipality is positioned for growth. Community brand, assisting in business development and encouraging investment in our community only benefits our community. A solid marketing plan fosters new growth.
Local Business Development
The strength of our community is our local business partners. Part of the economic plan must include our local businesses and how each can impact our community. My personal experience in business can assist in the growth of our community.
Our Agricultural Community
Agriculture is at risk. Increased land prices, increased input cost and increasing pressure from our federal government on emissions reduction places our agricultural community in danger. As a municipality, we need to be aware of the risk and act as required to support the foundation of our community.
Community Growth
Community growth is essential. Tax dollars must increase in order to support the essential services required for our residents to enjoy our livable and safe community.
Recreation Development
A plan is important after considering the desires and needs of our community impacting residents of all ages. Then recreation will be a success.
Our Cultural Community
Dutton Dunwich stands in the Heart of the Talbot Settlement which is steeped in history and culture. Organization such as Backus Page Museum and the Heritage Committee are essential to Dutton Dunwich as they preserve our past. We are also blessed with the Wallacetown Fair, Wallacetown Optimist, Dutton Dunwich Lions Club and the West Elgin Daffodil Auxiliary and all the volunteers as they continue as strongholds supporting so many community events and essential community needs. All organizations are important and require municipal support.
A Council With A Vision
I believe without a Vision you will not succeed. An end goal has no meaning without a vision. The council must determine its objective and plan accordingly. I am committed to Vision!
